Colin Powell’s cryptic warning about a ‘crisis’ on the 21st / 22nd January

Not much to say about this one, apart from - wtf? (This comes from the same Powell interview where he endorses Obama).

Around 2:38, Powell states, and this is verbatim:

‘There’s gonna be a crisis come along on the 21st or 22nd of January that we don’t even know about right now’

Now, I’m studying paradoxes in one of my university modules, and I have to say that statement qualifies. You know it’s going to happen, but you don’t even know about it? One resolution: perhaps this is a sentence with two distinct subjects, one an informed insider and the other the unaware general populace (hence ‘we’, not ‘I’)?

And, um, why so specific on the date, Colin? Presumably he’s aware of the significance of the date, since its only a day or two after the presidential inauguration, Jan 20th…

Who knows what we should make of it (or the interviewer’s neglecting to ask Powell what in God’s name he was prophesying). But remember this in a few months time, if and when some supposedly unforeseen, external threat is being invoked to justify military action and/or the erosion of hard-won civil liberties.

Hmm, I say ‘erosion’ of civil liberties as if it were some slow, gradual process, like the weathering of a rock.

    Needless to say, it’s not.

When you consider that days before only, Biden said something far more specific along exactly the same lines, THEN it makes you worry:

“Mark my words,” the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. “It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We’re about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don’t remember anything else I said. Watch, we’re gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy.”

Given that ‘Benito’ Obama, this February, was the only candidate to openly promote the policy of getting rid of Musharraf (which has happened) and even of striking Northern Pakistan unilaterally (which would be an invasion of a sovereign state, something the USA denounces when anyone else supposedly tries it - oh yeah, and which has also happened as the USA is regularly bombing Waziristan using CIA drone-planes)
    and said this:

“On the question of Pakistan, we just had an election there. But I have said very clearly that we have put all our eggs in the Musharraf basket. That was a mistake. We should be going after al-Qaeda and making sure that Pakistan is serious about hunting down terrorists, as well as expanding democracy.”

Then given how the ‘Iran’ story has also gone very quiet, is it THAT hard to guess what is going to go down?

For ‘Tests like John Kennedy’ read ‘The Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962′

Russia have massively upped their presence around and support of all the left-wing governments in South America

Pakistan is in dire financial trouble, with the USA almost blocking (controlling) an IMF rescue package, making it conditional upon allowing (effectively) US troops to invade on the premise that Al Queda training camps can be found and wiped out (markedly similar reasoning to the WMD justification for invading Iraq and like the WMD excuse, it is entirely baseless as no such camps have been bombed or found yet) at a time when the British Army are saying “Afghanistan cannot be won”…

So the likely scenario: De-stabilise Pakistan - buy and control the most corrupt potential new leaders (Benezir Bhutto’s husband Asif Zardari, who is probably the most corrupt and leading potential candidate, should do the trick!). Then engineer some fake, grass-roots civil-war packaged coup or ‘responsibility claimed by Al Queada’ event (such as her assassination, which there was no evidence for that it was Al Queda, even IF you believe that Al Queda actually exists) in which a US controlled Nuclear missile compound is supposedly under threat and BOOM…

We know that via his strong Brzezinski foreign policy influence and the new regime probably pulling the strings already, Obama has managed to move the theatre of conflict away from Iran and started to try and wind-up Russia and China (the Georgia fisaso and now proposing to sell very serious weapons to Taiwan) and (as is Brzezinski’s dream) that Russia and China go against each other and allow the troubled Anglo-US Finance system to proceed with the hegemony it has enjoyed up until the recent economic meltdown…

How they draw China and Russia into this I don’t know, but if you look around, you can see it starting to bubble… did any of you read that article about Russia appealing to US farmers to move to Russia to grow food, offering interest-free loans and transporting equipment for them free etc - what was MORE interesting than this though was their adding the desire for this to happen RATHER than the alternative situation, which is “For Chinese illegals to stream into the country and do this instead…”

    mmm…

The Biden quote is strange, although I wasn’t sure if it was reliably sourced (all I saw was a photo of him on youtube with the audio over the top). But yes, the cryptic JFK references and all that.

And the Pakistan thing is just disappointing. When Obama suddenly started going on about that I think a little bit of political idealism died in me, lol.

Why? Read Webster Tarpley’s book “Obama: The Post Modern Coup” and the Grass roots fascistic uprising aspect of his campaign and what he’s about will become totally clear! Have you SEEN those Videos on YouTube of the Obama ‘Youth Corp’ - small girls singing about Change covered in Obama branding (something they can know NOTHING about at 5 years of age) and the line-ups of disgruntled black youngsters??

Any doubts now? Has ALL the hallmarks of the Mussolini uprising in Italy…

Oh yeah - that ‘dispute’ that the US needs to create between Russia and China (Brzezinski’s vision) to ensure that they at least keep each other busy and at best, destroy each other (but by some amazing fortune NOT the rest of Europe!) that I referred to above could well be brought about by the increasingly close relations between Russia and China in Energy Supply terms… something the US will surely be keen to prevent (so think Darfur first followed by something more intrusive) - the seeds are already being sewn - see below (News out today)

Russian minister says plans drawn for China oil pipeline

    26 Oct, 2008, 1438 hrs IST, AGENCIES

MOSCOW: Plans have been drawn up for a pipeline linking Siberian oil fields to China, a Russian minister was quoted as saying Sunday, in a sign o
f tightening ties between Russia and its energy-hungry neighbour.

Russia’s state-controlled pipeline monopoly Transneft has finished designing a spur from the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean (ESPO) pipeline to China, Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti news agency.

“Transneft has prepared blueprints for the spur, whose technical details are in the phase of being agreed with the Chinese side,” Sechin said ahead of a meeting with Chinese energy officials, quoted by RIA Novosti.

China has jockeyed with Japan for access to oil from the partially built ESPO pipeline, which is designed to link Siberian oil fields to Russia’s Pacific coast with a length of over 4,700 kilometres (2,900 miles).

The projected spur to the Chinese border would be relatively short at 67 kilometres (42 miles) and would cement Russian-Chinese energy cooperation after years of hesitation by Moscow, a former Cold War rival of Beijing.

On Thursday, Interfax news agency quoted Russian Energy Minister Sergei Shmatko as saying the spur would not be ready in 2009.

re: Obama - he started threatening Pakistan over a year ago, ie. before those videos (and before the Tarpley book I believe. I’ll try and get round to reading his book though. I’ve looked at it on Amazon before). It was mainly the fact that Obama had campaigned based on ‘change’ and his anti-Iraq war stance and so (perhaps naively) this initially made me think he was generally not going to go bombing the middle-east quite so much. Of course at a certain point I found out his foreign policy adviser was Brzezinski… lol. (Am I right in thinking McCain is advised by Kissinger? Or just endorsed?)

The 2 vids are disturbing, but I don’t see how they’re evidence of a widespread fascistic youth movement led by Obama. From what I gather, the one with the black kids in army camo was shown exclusively on Fox News, which makes me suspicious of its origins and purpose.

But I agree, the glorification of political leaders, synchronised chanting, militarisation/collectivisation of young people, excessive talk of ’sacrifice’, slogans like ‘Country first’ and ‘God bless our troops’, it’s not good for ‘freedom’ and ‘democracy’.

Oh, and thanks for the Russia/China links.

Ahem… so looking at current events - a ‘terror’ attack in Pakistan, further destabilising it, Karzai saying publically today that he wishes he could shoot US planes out of the sky to stop them attacking villages and this:

    http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/nation/la-na-cyberattack28-2008nov28%2C0%2C6441140.story

Plus many other pieces all around about Russia arming up and it’s overtures to Latin America… (oh and the warnings about China and economic trouble too) - do my predictions above seem so outlandish?
